A warm, autumn afternoon was the perfect time for this Colorado coffee shop wedding. Aleksiy and Younwoo made big plans to get married in their home country, Hong Kong but really wanted to celebrate their marriage with the friends and family they have here in the US so in about a months time, they planned an intimate get together at one of my favorite downtown Fort Collins venues, Everyday Joe’s.
Everyday Joe’s is this great little non-profit coffee shop that is run by church volunteers. Not only is a great space for coffee hangouts and live music, but oh hey, you can get married there, and its pretty wonderful! This was my second time photographing a wedding here and the space and staff are beyond awesome.
Younwoo and Aleksiy are brilliant, incredibly kind and have that effortless kind of love.
I met these for the first time about an hour before their ceremony and as we were taking photos around town I got to know about them and their goals and plans and how they met. The places they’ve lived + traveled and places they want to see and all the while, they are just hanging out in front of my camera being the most photogenic humans alive.
Most of their friends and family weren’t able to make it for this celebration so Younwoo made little cardboard cutouts of her bridesmaids and Aleksiy’s family watched the ceremony via Skype (thank you technology!)
Their day was filled with beautiful singing (apparently Younwoo is like a majestic professional, she sang during their ceremony) laughs and well wishes and I’m so glad that they were able to put this together for their favorite people here!
