Nik + Kacey hosted their wedding at Planet Bluegrass in early October after postponing their celebration for a full year. They waited for so long to come together with their friends + family in this iconic venue to finally, at long last get married! It was a beaaaautiful day, full of sunshine and music and so much laughter.
During their engagement session, Nik + Kacey told me, that they were just SO excited to spend forever together. And how they had met on Kacey’s first day at work – Nik was the IT guy and Kacey was the only new hire that week. She saw him and it was that “butterflies in your stomach” feeling. Kacey said “He was (or I guess is) this tall ginger guy, with a witty sarcastic sense of humor, blue eyes and a smile that made me melt. Conveniently I had computer issues the entire first week of work, so I kept running into him 😉 The office culture was very social, so there was a scavenger hunt downtown and he was waiting at the finish line when my team finished first. People told me after that we looked like we had tweety birds above our heads, and honestly I couldn’t tell you who else was there because it felt like we were the only ones in the room.” They were bascially ever since and have spent the years adventuring around the globe together (Norway, Amsterdam, St. Maarten, Japan, and countless awesome places in the states as well).
I find myself thinking back on this day often, about their sentimental vows, the absolute VIBE that was their dance party, and most of all all the love between Kacey + Nik and those wonderful people surrounding them. These two are absolutely soulmates and I just feel so lucky to have gotten to know them during this special time in their lives.
