I had the absolute honor of meeting Courtney + Cody when they won an incredible giveaway that my dear friends (and absolutely smashing wedding planners) Hourglass Productions offered back in 2015.
Their engagement story is truly something so unique! Their engagement story was amazing you guys! in Court’s words : “We did many exciting things in Belize; the most exciting was getting to go scuba diving in the crystal clear water with the sharks and sting rays!…when I turned back around my Fiancé was on one knee UNDER THE WATER holding a sign that said ‘Will You Marry Me?’ while holding a treasure chest with the ring in it!I couldn’t actually say ‘yes‘ due to being under water, but I gave a whole body nod and there were a ton of bubbles!”
These two won that giveaway, we shot their EPIC snowboarding engagement session in the Rockies on the most beautiful wintery day and became fast friends between laughing while shooting and bonding over our love for all things Harry Potter.
They spent their first date together snowboarding, their engagement session snowboarding, so naturally they had to get married at a ski resort, and Black Mountain Lodge at ABasin was the perfect backdrop for their outdoor winter wedding!
I had to wait a whole YEAR for their wedding day to arrive, but it was absolutely worth the wait.
I rode up a ski lift with all my camera gear for the first time…that was horrifying riding back down in the middle of the night
… but I’m a pro at it now hah.
We danced into the late hours of the night and celebrated all the future magic that is to come to the lives of the travel loving, adventure seeking Grahams.

“Marry your best friend. I do not say that lightly.
Really, truly find the strongest, happiest friendship in the person you fall in love with.
Someone who speaks highly of you. Someone you can laugh with.
The kind of laughs that make your belly ache, and your nose snort.
The embarrassing, earnest, healing kind of laughs. Wit is important.
Life is too short not to love someone who lets you be a fool with them.
Make sure they are somebody who lets you cry, too. Despair will come.
Find someone that you want to be there with you through those times.
Most importantly, marry the one that makes passion, love,
and madness combine and course through you.
A love that will never dilute – even when the waters get deep, and dark.”
