Wedding Photographer in Vail,Co | Piney River Ranch Wedding | Darwin + Yihan

Piney River Ranch is truly such a jewel of a Colorado wedding venue. It has everything; a beautiful mountain backdrop a large serene lake, and an amazing gathering space for receptions. As a wedding photographer in Vail,Co being able to work here so often is my absolute favorite.

When Yihan and Darwin got in touch about their upcoming summer wedding, we met up for coffee (pre-covid) and talked for a couple hours about their incredible 10 year relationship. How they met, how much they LOVE traveling together and the difficulties of maintaining a longterm long distance relationship. Yihan is a cardiothoracic surgeon with such a giving nature, she works so hard and does everything she can to help people in need. Darwin does all things finance tech and created and incredible investment platform. These people are literal geniuses and unwind by spending quality adventure time together with their sweet puppo Guber.

For their engagement session, we went up to Rocky Mountain National Park, hiked around and all of my favorite spots and then ended the night with a sunset SUP paddle on Mary’s Lake.

Come their August wedding day at Piney, we started the morning early with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Rather than have a traditional wedding day timeline, Darwin and Yihan kept things super relaxed. Before their ceremony, these two filled the early afternoon with yard games, catching up with their friends and went out for a paddle around the lake before slipping into their wedding attire.

Yihan and Darwin really spent their wedding day at Piney River Ranch in the most true to them ways. They incorporated all the things that they love; campfire conversations, karaoke, SUPing, and integrated their cultures in some really unique ways.
