Wild Basin Lodge tucked away next to Estes Park,Co is one of my favorite wedding venues in Colorado. It has a cabin like feel, with gorgeous views of the Rockies for the ceremony and is super close to areas in Rocky Mountain National Park. This spot was a shoe-in for Kristen and Tyler as they planned their wedding from out of state, wanting mountain views and a laid back vibe all in one.
I’m a firm believer that a little rain on a wedding day is actually…kind of the best. Sure, it may not make things run as smoothly as you imagined, you and your guests might get a little wet but unless you’re made of sugar…or you’re a witch – you wont melt. Rain cools things down a bit, give us awesome cloud coverage for even light and makes all the colors in nature really pop. But most importantly, rainbows. You get raaaainbows and a rainbow makes everything exponentially more magical.
Kristen + Tyler got plenty of rain on their wedding day at Wild Basin Lodge, but it cleared up for their ceremony + photos. And started up again for a little bit during the reception ending with perfect timing to sneak out for some quick photos with the aforementioned rainbows. We had a blast all day, these people were all the absolute sweetest. Getting to know about their families, the hardships they’d gone through in their lives that brought them together…just the absolute best. I would redo this day 100 x over with these lovely humans. It was a beautiful day filled with so much love.
